Augmentation of weld penetration by flux assisted TIG welding and its distinct variants for oxygen free copper

A comparative study to investigate the influences of single component fluxes on depth-to-width ratio (DWR) oxygen free copper was carried out with novel variants tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding namely Activated TIG (A-TIG), Flux Bounded (FB-TIG) and Zoned processes. The experiments identify delivering higher DWRs in A-TIG among thirteen distinct were followed by trials FB-TIG FZ-TIG employing those identified DWR fluxes. which outperformed all techniques MoO3 & MgO. Reversed Marangoni arc constriction mechanisms perceived be opt for such an increase DWR. Metallurgical characterization weldment indicated grain morphologies certain defects as well weld zones. is postulated surpass terms bringing about upmost penetration.
